Day by Day

Day 1 (Arrival in Nepal)
Arrival in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. A taxi from our team will be waiting for you at the airport to take you to the hotel.

Day 2 (Kathmandu)
Introduction to Kathmandu. We will go on an excursion to visit some temples and walk through the bustling streets of Thamel, the tourist district of Nepal.

Day 3 (Kathmandu-Phakding)
Today, you'll get your first glimpse of the Himalayan giants. You'll fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, a mountain village at 2800 meters. The flight is a true experience as you'll witness the grandeur of the white peaks stretching beyond the horizon for the first time. The landing at Lukla is thrilling. From there, we'll walk gently towards Phakding to spend the night in a cozy guesthouse.

Day 4 (Phakding-Namche Bazaar)
We trek to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa's capital in Nepal. We follow a beautiful river, crossing it several times using steel suspension bridges that sometimes hang dizzyingly high above the water. We're gaining altitude steadily now: Namche is almost at 3500 meters.

Day 5 (Namche Bazaar)
Today is a day to acclimatize to the altitude. We hike to a viewpoint from where Mount Everest is visible for the first time. We'll spend another night in Namche.

Day 6 (Namche-Tengboche)
The final destination for today is Tengboche. The approach is easy, with beautiful views of Ama Dablam and Mount Everest. The final climb to Tengboche (3900 meters) is intensive but very rewarding. In Tengboche, you can admire the largest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu Valley.

Day 7 (Tengboche-Dingboche)
We reach an altitude of over 4000 meters for the first time as we head towards Dingboche. We emerge above the tree line and catch our first glimpse of the valley leading us towards Mount Everest.

Day 8 (Dingboche)
Today is another day dedicated to acclimatization and rest. In the morning, we'll hike to a viewpoint, and the rest of the day will be spent allowing our bodies to adjust to the thin air (4400 meters).

Day 9 (Dingboche-Chukung)
Today is a short day to Chukung, the base for the first pass.

Day 10 (Chukung-Kongma La-Lobuche)
Today, you'll cross the Kongma La pass at 5500 meters. The trail begins gradually and ends with a steep descent and a glacier crossing to Lobuche.

Difficulty

The Three Passes Trek is a challenging trek. You need to be in excellent physical condition and seeking a physical challenge. You should enjoy being active for 4 to 8 hours daily. In total, you'll walk 130 kilometers during the trek. You'll do this with a light backpack (the rest will be carried by local porters). What makes the trek slightly more challenging than, for example, a trek in the Alps, is the thin air. Every participant reacts differently to it. That's why we don't rush anything, and there's ample opportunity for each individual participant to complete their own adjustment.
